Composer Anita Brown will give a brief overview of the concept of her original piece of performance art entitled "Stand: A Symphony for Jazz Orchestra." She will enlist the attendees to participate in singing the simple, unison melody at the end of its 5th movement in order that the audience of community members will literally join the on-stage vocalists in song, singing the melody six times.
